New Religion? Maybe in Puna?
#2
As an atheist, this interests me. I had heard about the London Assembly and am glad this has spread as the Sunday Assembly. I take issue, though, with using the words "church," "congregation," and other words that connote religion. It certainly isn't a "new religion" as your title suggests. It's NON-religion. That's the point. Or, as one of the people in the interview said, "Live better. Help often. Wonder more." Loved this bit, too: "The universe in itself is bigger, more more fantastic, awe-inspiring, than anything human beings have created for themselves." If that's the kind of sentiment one would find at Sunday Assembly, if it's the kind of place one could go who believes in science and in the strength of the human spirit, I'd definitely attend.
