I currently live here in MN and this merger is not good. I worked for Time Warner up here for a few years and was out on a work injury when the FCC stepped in to have Time Warner and Comcast settle their debts with each other and in the end what happened was they swapped areas with each other and up here became all Comcast with the mini cable companies around. When I finally got back to work it was all ran by Comcast and two weeks later they let me go because of the work injury. The thing I noticed when Comcast took over was their service and billing rates jumped. Paying your bill over the phone to an automated system they now charge you $5 more for doing it. Any service call you make they have a charge on it if it has nothing to do with their equipment. I use to have my phone and internet through them and they would charge me two modem rental fees even though the phone and internet were built into one modem. And when I canceled the phone they still charged for the phone modem rental. Now for the best part of Comcast's bullshyt. I moved out of my house while I was divorcing my ex and when she finaally moved out and I moved back in I had to get the service put into my name. The tech came out hooked up one of the rooms that the cable was disconnected to. He installed the phone/internet modem, a digital cable box, and a dvr. So when the first bill comes theres a $271 installation charge added to the bill. I flipped out on them and they tried to give me the run around but it took two months for me to get most of the installation charges removed. I was looking forward to my move to Hawaii til I found out I will have to deal with Cumcast out there now too. I never had an issue with Time Warner.
