Are you saying that Boo boo can't fight because of the tendon surgery? Then yes, you should up your security to keep him in. The feral cats and my cats fight quite a bit. Part of that is my cats are territorial, and don't know if Boo Boo would be.
In any case, he can't be very car savvy after ten years on the lanai, or dog savvy.
I used to have ID collars on my cats, but they lose them. Cats should have breakaway collars so they don't hang themselves in the brush; the down side is the collars don't last and then kiss your nice ID tag goodbye. [
] But by all means install the one you have. He might not lose it, and it could mean all the difference as to someone bringing him back.
