Hawaiian Airlines carry-on

I'm going to fly Hawaiian to the mainland for the first time in a while, Hilo-Maui-San Jose. (Kind of tired of that United red-eye out of Hilo.) My carry-on bag fits their dimensions, except for the wheels which extend beyond. What have others experienced with Hawaiian? I'm wondering if they make you place your bag in that little metal measuring cage before boarding (like some airlines). I'm hoping they don't, and that my one inch wheel difference will be okay. It's not a very big bag!
