Kenney,
I'm with you on your view of HPPOA.
Some say receivership is the answer and there just might be a faction steering us in that direction. We certainly are divided and there are those working overtime to keep us that way.
Thru my eyes there ar least 4 groups. The first group being the majority of homeowners who are oblivious to the Board, past, present and their actions. Then there's the group that wants to vilify the newly elected members. Third is the group that wants to vilify the past board.
I'm in the 4th group. Been watching now thru June, Skip , Larry, back to June and now B.J.
We are watching hoping that THIS time a new board will have the skills, knowledge, strength and CHANCE to manage our association. To acheive this, of course, follow our bylaws and all laws.
I have been a director of a homeowner's assoc. before, served on a Quasi judicial Board of a municipality, served on other non profit boards but would not touch this one because of the liability . Many I know feel the same way. I thank those that have stepped forward . They stepped into an already existing dysfunctional mess.
And yes, they were elected via a proper election to represent us. The jury is still out for me as I do not believe they have had enough time to demonstrate their ability . I certainly have not had the opportunity to view them in an uninterrupted meeting.
There are allegations of wrong doing, past employees, previous board members and present board members.
Will it result in prosecution? I do not know. Lawsuits? time will tell.
I do know this "First and foremost, each director must understand that the DIRECTORS are responsible for the governance of the Corporation". This applies to the past group as well as the current Board of Directors.
