In the spirit the post began in, yes, I would love to see more dialogue here where people build some sort of increased understanding as the conversation goes along. There was a moment I the Ebola topic where someone thanked someone else for helping them to a better understanding instead of snapping at the correction. I noticed it and thought good for you.
I don't much like being told to act like a Pollyanna "be positive" type about everything. I prefer analytic thinking that takes in the positive and the negative. But for others the positive mantra is their way. There's room for different approaches if we can tolerate them, but actively tearing each other down out of reflex and habit does not build an enjoyable community (for a lot of people).
