People here aren't all going to agree about things. The key is to keep the discussion civil. There are many topics that are polarizing and people on both sides are so set in their ways they don't even listen to what the other side has to say. I've been on forums on the internet where the majority of posters think Obama is a muslim extremist terrorist, which makes me think they are all crazy racist idiots, but if I politely ask a question about hunting or gunsmithing, they are the most polite helpful people you could run in to. My experience on Punaweb has been very good. Every time I've had a question about living in Puna I've been helped immensely and unconditionally by the long time posters you seem to dislike.
It would be brilliant if everyone would drop their prejudices and discuss every topic rationally, but it's unlikely to happen. The combination of prejudices with the anonymity of the internet can bring the worst out in people. Fortunately it can also bring out the best in them as well. Most of the posters on this forum I'd be happy to meet in person and have over for a barbecue. I'm saddened that I missed out on the "Scuba Sunday" times.
