Testing Road Materials on Active Lava

Lifted bridges come with a very expensive price tag. I can't imagine putting one in only to have the flow swell under it and inundate it from the bottom upward.

The odd reality of this proposal, the topic itself, it's actually a floating bridge. Though the fluid under it is not water but rather magma, they are indeed working towards building a floating bridge.
