Bringing in the new year is a tradition of fireworks for most in Hawaii. On the mainland not so much, probably because most of the mainland is cold and snowy. Not my idea of fun of blasting off fireworks in a thick jacket.
It's not just a tradition, but to some, the more you spend on fireworks or the better and louder you can make em the better the new year luck god will come to you.
Altho, plenty of these fireworks were illegal, I'll take em over shooting guns in the air.
Lucky for us the volcano has once again stalled, and this only happens once every 365 days.
Happy New Years to all! I also, saved a bunch of cash, and didn't spend any money on lighting any fire works. I did light the propane stove and water heater a few times. Neighbors next door are busy cleaning up the street and driveways as I type this.
