Yes, a Real Store... By that I mean, a store for the people and run by the people. A not for profit store. But on the other hand carries all the goodies a modern store would. A store that has local produce in mind and with reasonable prices. A store where you shop knowing that the ingredients aren't the LOWEST quality influenced by the highest profit margins. A store when you shop you know you can feel good about getting your monies worth and at the same time knowing that the dollars you spend, are going back into the community by providing jobs form the locally grown products being bought with your money.
Why is it, I can buy Banana's all day long at a farmers market (locally candy apple banana type) for 75-1.00 a lbs yet, I walk into any other store and it's 150-2.00 bucks a lb non sale price? Profit...
Maybe I'm dreaming of "REAL" store and living in a pipe dream. But it would be nice wouldn't it? A win / win for everyone for a change.
