How far to the snow?

Snow starts at around the 12,000ft level. This is close to the summit region, so essentially it's a drive to the summit. About 30 minutes from the VIS in a decent 4WD vehicle. However, the road is currently closed. Much of the summit region is covered in ice (we've had a couple of falls amongst staff).
