Ohia trees are dying rapidly, Why?

Good evening, good morning Mr Maise. Thank you for your response and where to take the samples. Were hoping this was not some crack formed from the geothermal blowout on that storms evenings. Not that they would be fracking but maybe hydro shearing of some sort could cause cracks? This death line that runs like a crack is over 50 yards or longer. Comes back around like a full very wavy circle. No round up, no burn from fertilizer, no close cut on grass or off setting of mower, not the drought, no dead tree, looked for fire ants (none). Roots from some of my trees slow the dying process of the grass but you can still follow the line through the base of these trees when looking close. The roots of the dead grass are dead looking and smell sweet like fermented.
