I prefer to follow the British tradition of having two separate days to celebrate the same thing, no matter how illogical it is. The US system just doesn't allow this.
Indeed, March 14th 2015 is official Pi day, but 22/7 (or July 22nd, 7/22 in American speak) is the unofficial Pi day, just like our beloved Queen who has two birthdays and rules over the entire world. And being an astronomer, the approximation of 22/7 sits much more comfortably with me!
Anyone got jaboticaba? I'm suffering withdrawal symptoms.
