If they can't respect the land, then how can they respect a mountain? Seems to me the real agenda is hidden here.
It's less about the aina and more about power/control/money.
Just look at the "protectors" are they up there actually doing anything to help protect the mountain? All they seem to be doing is sitting around, putting rocks in the roadway, basically doing anything but protecting the moutain.
It would be the ultimate irony if the people arrested, were convicted and sentenced to community service actually doing something helpful on Mauna Kea, like picking up litter or replanting native species.
