Hate the messenger rainyjim. My personal opinion from experiences, doesn't need any more validation than the hearsay statements made from others. Leilani is a couple hundred feet down wind from geothermals 400 acres, the blowout happened(fact). As children living on the lower streets of leilani we had our experiences with the releases from geothermal. We still have terrible memories of having to simply take the school bus to school.
Rainyjim you may know why the geothermal plant moved away from the volcano community, or out of what use to be a prestine beautiful Ohia rain forest? Well they stuck this community polluter, now Ormat owned geothermal power plant across the street from us as kids as an experiment. Now we have to live with the expansiions whether we like it or not. I know... why not just move away from where you are from? That would be easy for some, We had our names and home on the geothermal/county relocation list. They have now frozen that process so it may take a few more years than we had hoped to sell and move. The Lava threat has made other ways of selling increasingly difficult as well. These are all my experiences not hearsay rainyjim.
