hate Hawaiian Electric because it is a locally owned company with a bunch of corrupt greedy local good old boys
This description fits the entire "energy industry", so it's hardly fair to single out HEI for this behavior.

News flash: a consultant paid by NextEra says co-ops aren't cost effective.
Of all the Governors I've met, going back to George Ariyoshi, he is the least "weasel" like
Then Ige should have no trouble enshrining "alternative energy" rights into the State Constitution before the merger is approved, so we don't end up with NextEra lobbying for laws that say "only a grid-powered home is habitable" like they have in their home state of Florida.
Not that Code Enforcement is in a big hurry to red-tag all of Puna's jungalows, but I figure they don't need more excuses.
