PSA for the day:
We all know about bromeliads holding water and mosquito larvae, but our neighbor recently hacked down a papaya tree and low and behold, the inside was hollow, quickly filled up with rainwater and... mosquito larvae. He brought a small sample of the water to show us and it was filled with happy little larvae swimming around.
Moral of the story- if you hack down a papaya, put some boric acid in the middle or get rid of the whole thing.
