Some Interesting reading material from 15 years ago here. I recognized several names in this article who are now some of the protectors against the TMT project(these folks have always been there). Kind of shows ME how the state and TMT backers has tried to avoid the real issues surrounding Maunakea and its Hawaiian people for decades now,jmo. Our many politicians, universities, astronomers, and state departments like BLNR or the DLNR, have shown me its true colors throughout this TMT process.

Many positives have come from this TMT controversy, jmo. like the overall greater awareness of our islands resources. We also have been blessed to witness the Hawaiian people getting together again (their rise) to stand strong for things they believe in or want to protect like traditions, the aina, its resources, and the next local generation.
P.S. Tourism was an industry to help us not replace many of us?
