I have my antenna attached to the side of the house on top of a 10 foot pole so the antenna is higher than the metal roof that would otherwise be between the antenna and Hilo. I probably could have avoided the pole by mounting the antenna on the other side of the house, however a pre-existing mount was already on the house and it was easier to add the pole than install a new mount.
My first installation I didn't get all the channels. I fixed that by replacing the cheap coax cable I purchased locally with a better quality cable from amazon.
I had the antenna aimed more or less directly at Hilo until they added the 45's and to get them clearly I had to rotate it a few inches to the west.
Don't forget each time you move the antenna you have to rescan.
