Isn't changing the genetic makeup of a plant the ultimate purpose
I remember about 20 years ago, I read a Time Magazine article about marijuana breeders. The story stated that if the same amount of selective breeding and genetic crosses (indica x sativa, etc) had been applied to watermelons, melons the size of VW Beetles would be commonplace.
But, yeah, let's go ahead and pretend there exists an imaginary line between the purity of DNA and plant chromosome structure in currently cultivated marijuana, and potential GMO varieties.
