How much electricity would be needed to operate large Telescopes like the TMT?

How is this even relevant?

More than a school or two full of air-conditioned classrooms for the Keiki?

Without TMT revenue, expect a tax increase to pay for this. (Expect the tax increase anyway, but hopefully it's less severe if the revenue base is allowed to expand.)
