The other question nobody seems to be asking: why is road construction so expensive? (Nor is it "just" road construction...)
Widen 9 miles of 130: $160M
Air conditioning for 1000 classrooms: $80M
It's almost as if the "real problem" isn't insufficient tax revenue, but massive overhead, possibly caused by a revolving door between the legislature and big contractors/labor unions.
Here's a good one: Chain of Craters emergency road construction: $20M. Brand new D9: $1M. Maybe more County workers and equipment would be cheaper than outsourcing everything to Yamada, Glover, Ishimoto...
