don't have in stock, and will not have in stock for (at least) 2 months after the purchase date

If they've already charged your credit card, that's a type of "fraud".

to offset the high cost of shipping to Hawaii

I'm finding more and more items "flagged" for 48-states-only, and the helpful India chat center droids simply point at the "restrictions" (oversize, overweight, hazmat) even when they obviously don't apply (HDMI cable). Of course, they also suggest "this item available from other sellers" ... who magically have no trouble with the shipping.

I guess when you're as big as Amazon you can just write off a few million people if it's too inconvenient to bother shipping to them.
