if you use salt, dont just poor it on the ground.. make a diluted salty water mix and use it sparingly.. salt will build up, it can screw your soil up for a long time..... Salt is mostly sodium chloride, a bigtime poison! for plants
fwiw... I use a product that interferes with the synthesis of the amino acids phenylalanine, tyrosine, and tryptophan in plants... its very safe and only can kill the plant it touches thus often used to restore sensitive environments all over the World... it doesnt contaminate the soil, you can grow a seedling in the same soil the next day... its been around for 66 yrs... easily the best..
