There has been a conservative thread of discussion on this topic regarding indigenous peoples. This topic of oppressed peoples is a major part of the social justice debate.
Here is an extraordinary interview on Joe Rogan Podcast with Jordon Peterson, a Canadian professor who is challenging his university's policies on free speech. Peterson discusses the broad umbrella of social justice groups seeking to curtail any language deemed offensive.

If these groups, also active in the U.S., have their way, in a few years a government appointed monitor will be looking over Rob's shoulder to ensure compliance with codes on unacceptable speech. (If find value in Jordan's views, Sam Harris (also on Joe's podcast) might be of interest.)
