Weed control using grass

If you are going to plant grass, bermuda grass is drought, salt, and heat tolerant and does well here. It's also a good self-repairing grass. If pigs root it up you can generally just flatten it out and it will fix itself. You can buy it anywhere that sells outdoor stuff (HD, Walmart, etc). Look for a brand that is dehulled and it will sprout quicker. The downside to bermuda grass is it takes a very long time sprout and you'll have to make sure it stays wet until it's growing. That can be a problem on large areas if you're on catchment and we're not getting any rain.
