Hawaii's number #1 industry may be partly to blame for Hawaii's recent coral reef loss.
If the tourists who visit Hawaii are catching and killing all the fish in the sea, we better expedite construction of the TMT. According to gypsy himself, his studies show at least a million tourists a year will drive to the summit of Mauna Kea to see the new telescope. If tourists are at 14,000 feet in elevation, as far from the seashore as is possible on the island, it should not only stop but reverse our ongoing loss of fish and coral.
