Whenever anything happens these days ... the knee-jerk reaction from the usual bunch of kooks is "they're lying!".

Look at the difference:
Hawaii Emergency sent out a prepared statement by mistake. The message they sent was unintentional, not meant to mislead anyone. They admitted it was a mistake. The reaction? Citizens demand a full, verified account, second by second as to what occurred. Total and complete details. And heads should roll.
Some Guy with a website claims someone, behind the scenes, believed there was an actual missile threat. Does Some Guy name the possible source for this information, or an agency that might have detected a threat? Does he in any way suggest who might be responsible? Nope, he simple makes a broad statement with no proof or reasonable explanation about how he reached his conspiracy theory. He says we are being told lies. What's his intention? Is it to reveal a truth for which he offers no details or information to back his statement? If not, isn't he then intentionally misleading the people who read his website? Does anyone ask for a full and complete accounting from Some Guy? No. Instead, if someone suggests he should be held accountable for his message, it's suggested we're interfering with his right to free speech.
