I bet that's true. Don't EISs take at least 6 months? Maybe the viewing site will be set up and the lava river will run 1 or 2 more days and then Pau.
That would be somewhat of an embarrassment. I bet the national media would get chuckle out of that.
Seeing the lava river footage on the news every day, I think some folks are a little jaded by it. I don't think people fully realize what an extraordinary natural phenomenon it is. We have had fountains before, but this lava river is something else.
IMO it ranks with a total solar eclipse. The birth of new land. For all the damage the lava has done to people's homes, there will be a void when the fountain and river stop.
