Can't ignore the "optics". We already have three (maybe four) tax increases, huge council raises, a multi-million dollar budget shortfall, and now our council members are leaving the island in the middle of a crisis and staying in expensive hotels while evacuees sleep in tents. It didn't occur to them that this might look bad, whether or not it is actually productive?
