Lethal force in defense of one's home in Hawaii has been tested in court. That homeowner is still in prison. Just defending oneself from a homicide charge of any level can mean financial ruin at least. The judgement is made in a tense situation. I know, I've been there. Decide wrong and life as you know it may be over.
