Time to begin discussing Puna lava viewing site
Somewhere along the line we ought to get some science expertise on the relative levels of S02 at different eruption features. We know fumes are very problematic by ocean entries (laze).

How about near Fissure 8? (Aren't there people living with 1.5-2 miles of Fissure 8?)

How about 3 miles from Fissure 8 at mid-river? (we've seen a clip 30 yards from the river) How about some distance from the river, as the link shows?

Obviously there is fume overlap anywhere in the eruption zone depending on wind, but can one plot out safer zones?

ETA: Just read about the boat accident--that will certainly push views in the safety direction....
