Remember this suggestion by our Hawaii County Councilwoman about a month ago?
“‘Fissure 8’ is not a good name,” said Puna Councilwoman Eileen O’Hara “The number eight is the symbol for infinity, and we don’t want an infinite eruption.”
The name was not changed and yet, fingers crossed, it looks as if it won’t be an infinite eruption. So if stopping the eruption didn’t require the name change, then why? Why change the name? I submit it was all for deception and subterfuge. If the real Fissure 8 has, as suspected, great wealth, beyond measure, hidden in and around its cone, what better way to keep the general public away than by hiding it’s true name? It would have caused mass confusion in identifying the fissure, if and when we’re again allowed access. Although who knows? Even without the name change, the only people who can recognize and locate the one true Fissure 8, are in cahoots with the very administration that attempted to confuse and misdirect us in the first place. To what end?
