just another afternoon mountain drive.
Oh, I know it was a bit of a stretch, admittedly, but the road did remind me of almost any unpaved route through Hawaiian Acres, crossed with the curves and switchbacks descending to Kolekole Park in North Hilo District, as driven by 15% of the motorists I meet any given day on Highway 130. And I think it’s fair to assume there’s some possibilty our road and park closure decisions are made in part based on a County or Civil Defense employee YouTube search, keywords; flood, road, human nature. (not how I accomplished my discovery, which was simple random serendipity on a rainy night with a steady-as-she-goes internet connection)
