Kamilo is world famous as "the garbage beach." The currents perfectly send all the floating crap right there. There is a community clean up once or twice a year.
It's probably fed from the circulation of trash in the North Pacific subtropical Gyre, between the Eastern Pacific Garbage Patch and the Western Pacific garbage patch.
