"Each auto registration includes $12 towards disposal. I wonder where that money went?"
I have an old farm truck that I use on public roadways maybe once a month for dump runs, etc. If you total up my registration, insurance fees etc, it costs me at least $20 per trip every time I drive it not even counting gasoline or maintenance. It's good to know that I'm also paying $1 per use to go towards disposing of other people's vehicles. (not).
ETA: insurance question! If I'm driving my truck about 12 days per year, why is it insured for 365 days? Is it possible for me to just activate my insurance the day I use it, and then cancel it the next day? Would USAA dump me?
