My own opinion is that if local teachers don't support vaccinations then that gets passed onto their students. I don't know if teachers here that don't vaccinate are passing on anti-vaccination views to students, but if they are then the herd immunity will likely be lost. And, perhaps more importantly, if that is happening, Hawaii has a big problem educating its kids. I think the evidence that vaccinations save lives is overwhelming and feel genuinely sorry for the kids who have died because their parents chose to think a god would keep their children alive.
There is a free choice. You choose not to vaccinate your children then you don't send them to school, just home-school them. Don't inflict other children and staff with a virus you have the ability to prevent.
Same goes for those with a cold yet decide to turn up for work. Please don't. Stay away from your colleagues until you are no longer contagious.
