seeking a mac guru

Rob, you pretty much sum up my situation. I've done a fair amount of research and you can still buy Snow Leopard (10.6) via the Mac store and an Apple Care rep told me it should run on all the newer machines. I'll be partitioning the disk and using the old OSX for image work using my old software and the new OSX for internet, email, etc. I've spoken to Apple and they say no problem. SSD or HD is better than new Fusion drive because only one partition can use the faster flash portion of the drive, sort of defeating the purpose. Now I just have to come up with the money. Just...

ETA: And Radiopeg, I'm surprised you had problems. Is this Supergeeks you're talking about? Troy was great, tried numerous fixes, very patient and knowledgable, reasonable prices. It's Supergeeks closure that has prompted my search for someone else.
Certainty will be the death of us.
