Exede about to go belly up?

Call Hawaiian Tel. They are the ones running fiber optics all over the place

The big Telcom fiber expansion was only for areas with no other broadband option. This means (as suggested above) that fiber is generally available on all the unpaved roads in Hawaiian Acres, because Spectrum doesn't bother to deploy cable unless there's a paved road.

Possible exception for those within range of the RDSLAM at 1/C because DSL is also "broadband". If they're using the 10Mbit definition, this only affects subscribers within about 7Kft where G.lite can reliably achieve 11Mbit. Which still beats satellite.

you can get faster service cheaper via cellular

Subject to random delays, rain fade, failure during power outages, etc. But at least it's more expensive.

(Telcom fiber is passive, their end is battery-powered, the ONT at your end consumes only a few watts, even the cheapest UPS will last hours.)
