randomq - unless the defamation has cost you an awful lot of money, I don't think it's worth pursuing. Obviously, I don't know anything about your case, but I was a defendant in a defamation case, one of many defendants. I supposedly defamed a professional astrologer by showing how his predictions were no better than random chance and then calling him a scammer. The case was thrown out of court well before I had the opportunity to show I was telling the truth - which of course is a powerful defense against defamation.
Unless you are very rich, lawyers tend to be wary of taking on defamation cases because they cost an awful lot of money and they also tend not to take them on contingency for the same reason. Defamation law is very much on the defendant's side.
