I was listening to Fresh Air on Hawaii Public Radio as I drove home from Hilo, and the discussion was about the future of agriculture. It’s possible Roundup may be replaced by robot weeders in the near future. Some prototypes still use small amounts of herbicide with precise targeting mechanisms:

They’re relatively expensive now, but even the big boys like John Deere are developing models so they must see a future in their use and production.
