I understand your question and your support for the TMT, but adding even more protesters, for or against the TMT, is likely to harm everyone including the staff at the current observatories. Sign-waving in Hilo or Kona is fine, but increasing the number of protesters at wherever the site is will likely be counter-productive and would just cause more problems for the current observatories and their staff who work on the mountain.
Your question has been brought up amongst MK observatory staff, i.e., counter-protests, and the conclusion is support for science on MK is very welcome but not if it ends up creating even more problems.
As for planned counter-protests, no, I know nothing and given the above, I wouldn't tell you about them anyway.
