I think it’s been pointed out in the past that when you argue human operated equipment and buildings on Mauna Kea will pollute the air and water, driving gigantic eight cylinder ten mpg vehicles up the mountain may not bolster your point. To be fair, it’s less likely new vehicles will leak patches of rainbow swirling oil across the aina.
Exactly like a brand new state of the art, zero emissions observatory won’t pollute the Mauna Kea watershed. That’s been one of the most cited, longest held fallacies of the protestors, who seemingly have no problem leaving enormous, deep carbon footprints in cinder and rock across the landscape.
