Glinda posts,
"He certainly hasn’t any idea how to unify his constituents. Though I suspect a deeper set of forces than Ige’s ineptness are at play. Notice how the tried and true Democrats, Mazie and Case, toe the same party line as Ige while Tulsi, already an established renegade, has stood strongly, clearly articulating her position for the Hawaiian’s cause. And interestingly she was able to get Bernie to back her play. Payback for all the support she gave Bernie back in ‘16? And Josh speaking out against Ige? I think Ige is way out of his depth"
I agree, we are witnessing more than a handful of Hawaiians protesting.
Locally we have Kamehameha Schools, the undergraduates of University of Hawaii and now
A State Rep. and religious leaders, including Christian Church leaders standing with the Kanaka Maoli.
This current uprising has the potential of severely crippling the "established machine" that controls this State and I hope it does.

"We the undersigned have a responsibility not to stay silent in the face of injustice. We are not against science or scientific research. But it should be done in an appropriate location.
Some may disagree, but we believe the mountain belongs to the Kanaka maoli. It is part of their homeland."
And they must have a say about what to do and what not to do on their sacred land! We offer our prayers in solidarity with all our kanaka maoli sisters and brothers who feel oppressed, bullied, and not listened to."
