I was wondering the exact same thing, except it wasn't about kalakoa, but the protesters who tried to blackmail Maunakea Observatories today. And if you think that's a strong word, then you should have heard the actual responses from senior observatory staff which couldn't possibly be aired publicly.
When you have Kanuha running after an observatory vehicle because he knows his bargaining chip is leaving, you know he realized that he had f*cked up.
