Council losing patience with lava "recovery"

Sorry if this seems a bit off-topic but it sounded like she said at the beginning that Tom Callis was recently brought on to support the Communications team. Is that reporter Tom Callis of the Tribune-Herald? He hasn't posted any reports since early June...

I think Nancy summed it up in that there has been millions allocated for recovery but they can't get $4000 for gravel to help get people home. Literally asking for pennies and being denied. Combine this with the 700 ft of Lighthouse Rd that is not going to be cleared currently even with the dozers are going to be right there at 4 corners, and no timeline for 137 to Kapoho Kai.

But they are finding ways to pay others to do surveys, send post-cards, do case management, and every other administrative task. That way the monies can be dolled out to favored contractors and all responsibility for the outcome displaced from the County. SOP really, but it's hard not to see this all as a direct insult to those effected.
