@geochem - not trying to minimize the event, but if that's the first time your colleague or their students have run into "turf" attitude, they should consider themselves lucky. Plenty of people out there who think they own whatever they want, and what you goin to do bout it?

If not enforcing the laws costs several hundred thousand, just imagine what enforcing the laws would cost? (And yes you'll have to use your imagination as we are unlikely to actually see it)
