If you're on Android, check out the NewPipe app (only available from the open source app store F-Droid, which you have to install from their website). NewPipe lets you queue and stream or download audio or video from YouTube, where you can find almost any music or instructional video.
If you like podcasts, check out AntennaPod, it can stream or download all major podcasts. "Subscriptions" to find podcasts on iTunes and other directories and download/listen to older episodes, "Queue" to see what new shows have come out since you subscribed, and "Settings -> Network" where you can tell it how often to check for / download new podcasts.
Downloading for later listening (in both apps) is particularly nice when you live or work somewhere with unreliable Internet access. You can save hours of music on your phone, "how to" videos, and podcasts on various intelligent subjects for listening while you do monotonous tasks like yard work.
