I would think in a crisis credit cards would be the preferred method for transactions rather than money, it’s certainly cleaner. So I don’t fully understand the implications of a restriction (if there is one.)

I said I didn’t necessarily buy into it.
As far as baseless, my sister is neighbors with one of the many former White House Chief of Staffs. She knows people with connections to the West Wing. I asked her over the weekend whether she had any more info or updates on her original comment, and she said nothing further has been mentioned. I’m sure there are a million ideas getting tossed around in the Administration right now. Some make it out the door into Rose Garden press briefings, others are tossed in the can or placed on the back burner.
I don’t know which applies to the comment in my post. But your description that it was a baseless does not. It was a rumor yes, and I clearly stated it as such. Given the source I felt it was worth posting, even if such a policy had not been officially implemented.
