So residents of Hawaii still need to complete their Federal taxes by April 20th in order to file their state taxes in time on that date, or send in an extension payment that can’t be based on prior years because 2020 with COVID-19 was a year like no other.
Unless you‘re a state worker who continued to receive a regular paycheck, so you’re incapable of understanding what private sector taxpayers went through last year. No reason they can see to change the filing deadline. Besides, they want that tax money by April 20th to keep paying those many, those happy many, that band of brothers* who are other government employees.
